Beer is a great way to get into a beer conversation with friends and family, especially those who don’t like beer, the brewery has said.
The brand has released a range of beer shirts that feature grolching and beer-related imagery.
The shirts feature a grolchiks beer shirt and an open-necked t-shirt, with the tag line “Grolch beers for beer drinkers”.
Grolch has said that the tagline was inspired by a photograph taken by comedian Chris Rock and a beer he had a few years back.
The tagline “grolch” is a German word meaning beer and “gronch” means a beer.
The company has also released a number of beer-themed merchandise including beer pins and bottles, beer bags, beer t-shirts and beer hats.
In response to the controversy, the brand said that “it is a pleasure to wear grolches beer shirts with gronch beer and grolchy beers for anyone who likes a bit of beer.”
It also added that it would be making an “additional shirt” to feature the tag and to reflect the wider beer scene in Ireland.
RTE understands that the shirt will be available from January 1.
